This year's Sabah Adventure Challenge (SAC) 2012 was held at Kundasang Ranau Highland on 6-8th April. I would like to participate (probably for fun) but really had no time to train lately. I have trekked the region before because the first day of the SAC is my home ground. The 1st day of the Duo Adventure Race begins at Mesilau Nature Resort and the Solo Ultra Trail Run at Kampung Himbaan and traversed the region covering Kampung Ratau to Kampung Karanaan (via Kenipir River) and then going up to Kampung Pahu, forest trek to Kampung Mohimboyon and then back to finish line at Kundasang.

Its my first time taking photo of such event, so I think I missed many interesting views. Pro photographer, Rabani and his colleagues lead the photography of the SAC as usual.

Travel 1: KK-Kota Belud-Kundasang

Training.. training.. modify code, extract data, data cleaning, transformation, discretize, write paper.. report.. etc, argh I need an escape for a while. Actually, while I am here at Sabah, I would like to visit all major towns via different route with any possible means of transport, what else.. my wira lah. This is my first mission from: 1. KK-Kota Belud-Kundasang 2. KK-Tambunan-Ranau-Kundasang 3. KK-Kota Belud-Kota Marudu-Kudat-Tip of Sabah-Kundasang 4. KK-Tambunan-Keningau-Tenom-Sipitang-Beaufort-KK 5. KK-Kota Marudu-Pitas-Beluran-Telupid-Ranau-Kundasang 6. KK-Tambunan-Keningau-Sook-Nabawan-Kalabakan-Tawau-Samporna-Sandakan-Telupid-Ranau-Kundasang Mission number 5 and 6 should be the last because the road may be not suitable for my wira.. hehe. In this journey, the road is easy from KK to Kota Belud but a little bit steep from Kota Belud Ranau-Tuaran junction via Jalan Ranau Bypass. How to go to Kundasang?

First of all, thank you for arriving into my blog. Whether you will arrive in Kota Kinabalu by an airplane (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2), sea or land, I would like to welcome you to Sabah Below the Wind and also welcome to Kundasang, the home for Sabah vegetables and Mount Kinabalu. I know my page is not really informative but hopefully can benefit to you. My blog receives quite many references from search engines looking for "Kundasang map", "peta kundasang", "how to go to Kundasang from KK" and some other similar keywords. Thus, I will try as possible to briefly explain how to go to Kundasang from Kota Kinabalu. It’s a bit sad actually that Sabah’s public transport is not yet fully developed to integrate all important destinations at the moment. DIY - Hyundai Inokom Atos Starter Removal

I replaced my Suzuki Jimny SJ410 starter sometime ago and it is quite easy because plenty of space in SJ410 engine bay. However, the Atos compact engine bay is really challenging for starter removal. Actually, a hard start had happened to Atos since few months and recently getting worse. Service centre diagnosed as starter problem. The battery is new but very hard to start especially after turned off the engine and need to wait for few minutes then the Atos can be started with two or three key turn. It is very annoying when turning off the engine while filling fuel at petrol station. Wifey asked at service centre the new starter, guess how much.. RM1K++.. matai.. crazy expensive. Alternatively, have to go for third party starter and looking around Inanam, most of the car parts shops do not have Atos starter. Besides, I don't really know which shops have this starter. Finally, I asked the regular shop at Tamparuli and need to order (no stock already) with price is about RM200+
