Kaamatan Ranau 4x4 Challenge 2010

This is a three-day event which held in accordance with the festival of Kaamatan on 29/5-31/5/2010. Located at Lohan Dam, it is a very great place for 4x4 competitions. In fact, it is a regular venue for weekend 4x4 challenge among local boys with their 4x4 rigs. My gear: Olympus E-1 and 12-60mm lens.

This time around, I did not come to take photos for free but I have to pay RM25 for that. Hopefully they will revise the pay per photographer because I know not all people with camera in the track pay to take photos. If need to pay, how nice if at least provide T-Shirt or some drinks during the event. Don't worry, I'll shoot again to promote Ranau 4x4 event. Anyway, below are some selected photos:

I start with this, the unauthorized usage of my photo for their activities. At least inform me before they want to use the photo. If they receive payment/profit out of this event, then they should know better what to do.

Travel 1: KK-Kota Belud-Kundasang

Training.. training.. modify code, extract data, data cleaning, transformation, discretize, write paper.. report.. etc, argh I need an escape for a while. Actually, while I am here at Sabah, I would like to visit all major towns via different route with any possible means of transport, what else.. my wira lah. This is my first mission from: 1. KK-Kota Belud-Kundasang 2. KK-Tambunan-Ranau-Kundasang 3. KK-Kota Belud-Kota Marudu-Kudat-Tip of Sabah-Kundasang 4. KK-Tambunan-Keningau-Tenom-Sipitang-Beaufort-KK 5. KK-Kota Marudu-Pitas-Beluran-Telupid-Ranau-Kundasang 6. KK-Tambunan-Keningau-Sook-Nabawan-Kalabakan-Tawau-Samporna-Sandakan-Telupid-Ranau-Kundasang Mission number 5 and 6 should be the last because the road may be not suitable for my wira.. hehe. In this journey, the road is easy from KK to Kota Belud but a little bit steep from Kota Belud Ranau-Tuaran junction via Jalan Ranau Bypass. How to go to Kundasang?

First of all, thank you for arriving into my blog. DIY - Hyundai Inokom Atos Starter Removal

I replaced my Suzuki Jimny SJ410 starter sometime ago and it is quite easy because plenty of space in SJ410 engine bay. However, the Atos compact engine bay is really challenging for starter removal. Actually, a hard start had happened to Atos since few months and recently getting worse. Service centre diagnosed as starter problem. The battery is new but very hard to start especially after turned off the engine and need to wait for few minutes then the Atos can be started with two or three key turn. It is very annoying when turning off the engine while filling fuel at petrol station. Wifey asked at service centre the new starter, guess how much.. RM1K++.. matai.. crazy expensive. Alternatively, have to go for third party starter and looking around Inanam, most of the car parts shops do not have Atos starter. Besides, I don't really know which shops have this starter. Finally, I asked the regular shop at Tamparuli and need to order (no stock already) with price is about RM200+
