Weather resistant lens - proven during rainy 4x4 challenge photography

I bought this lens together with the Olympus E-3 in 2007. Since then the lens become my favourite with over 90% of the time usage. It covers from wide to moderate tele and also not forgetting macro capable. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this lens for its Super Grade, dust and weather resistant.

However the lens eventually suffered with aperture stuck issue in early 2009. Having serviced by Olympus Malaysia, the lens is working perfectly until extreme usage of this lens during wet and muddy Borneo Safari 2011 where the SWD was totally out of order. The symptoms began with refuse to focus from 12mm and then all the zoom ranges where the lens does not response to focus at all. Manual focus helped a bit but there was a smearing effect in the photo. The lens is now at Olympus Service Centre since April 2012 because I still couldn't decide whether to bare the cost (RM900++) to change the SWD unit.

Travel 1: KK-Kota Belud-Kundasang

Training.. training.. modify code, extract data, data cleaning, transformation, discretize, write paper.. report.. etc, argh I need an escape for a while. Actually, while I am here at Sabah, I would like to visit all major towns via different route with any possible means of transport, what else.. my wira lah. This is my first mission from: 1. KK-Kota Belud-Kundasang 2. KK-Tambunan-Ranau-Kundasang 3. KK-Kota Belud-Kota Marudu-Kudat-Tip of Sabah-Kundasang 4. KK-Tambunan-Keningau-Tenom-Sipitang-Beaufort-KK 5. KK-Kota Marudu-Pitas-Beluran-Telupid-Ranau-Kundasang 6. KK-Tambunan-Keningau-Sook-Nabawan-Kalabakan-Tawau-Samporna-Sandakan-Telupid-Ranau-Kundasang Mission number 5 and 6 should be the last because the road may be not suitable for my wira.. hehe. In this journey, the road is easy from KK to Kota Belud but a little bit steep from Kota Belud Ranau-Tuaran junction via Jalan Ranau Bypass. First of all, thank you for arriving into my blog. DIY - Hyundai Inokom Atos Starter Removal

I replaced my Suzuki Jimny SJ410 starter sometime ago and it is quite easy because plenty of space in SJ410 engine bay. However, the Atos compact engine bay is really challenging for starter removal. Actually, a hard start had happened to Atos since few months and recently getting worse. Service centre diagnosed as starter problem. The battery is new but very hard to start especially after turned off the engine and need to wait for few minutes then the Atos can be started with two or three key turn. It is very annoying when turning off the engine while filling fuel at petrol station. Wifey asked at service centre the new starter, guess how much.. RM1K++.. matai.. crazy expensive. Alternatively, have to go for third party starter and looking around Inanam, most of the car parts shops do not have Atos starter. Besides, I don't really know which shops have this starter. Finally, I asked the regular shop at Tamparuli and need to order (no stock already) with price is about RM200+
